Here are our top tips for your wedding photo booth rental
Booking a photo booth for your wedding with LightBooth isn't complicated, but we've learned a few things over the years to help make your experience even better!
Get your times right
Weddings and receptions can be complicated affairs. There are often a couple dozen items on the timeline, and things almost never go exactly as planned. Ideally, you would have the photo booth open for the entire reception. That said, if you are planning to have the photo booth open for less than the full time of the reception, try to make sure that the booth is open at the optimal time so you don't waste your rental. Usually this means having the booth open later on in the night during the dancing portion of the evening. Guests are more likely to let loose in the photo booth after a couple cocktails, and speeches, dinner, and introductions are usually the slowest time of the night for the booth.
If you do want to have the photo booth open during cocktail hour as well, ask the photo booth company if they offer any "idle time rates" for the times when the booth won't be getting much use like during speeches etc. LightBooth offers a discounted rate for these times, and we are happy to do it because we want to make sure to be there to document all of the best moments of your wedding!
Don't be afraid to bring a few of your own props
We include a huge selection of great props for no extra charge, but only you know exactly what fits your personality and the personalities of your guests. If there are any items that would take the photo booth to the next level, bring 'em along! We will keep a close eye on them and return them to you at the end of the night. If you need ideas, think inside jokes, items specific to your college teams, giant cardboard heads, etc. (if you have any questions or need help with this, just let us know)!
Get in the booth early (and just the two of you!)
We always try to make sure to get the bride and groom in the photo booth early and often. We're also happy to save their prints for them throughout the night (gowns don't usually have pockets). Sometimes though, we notice that the bride and groom get so busy doing other things that they don't make it over to the photo booth until the very end of the event. Obviously, there is a lot going on so we don't suggest that you spend all night in the booth, but the photo booth does provide a perfect opportunity for the couple to take a few minutes to themselves and get some fun photos in the process. We have even received some messages from couples saying that a few of their couples shots from the booth ended up being their favorite photos from the whole day!
After all, the whole point of booking a photo booth for your wedding is to let loose and have fun with your friends and family. The fact that you'll take home prints and digital photos that you'll treasure forever is a huge bonus, but the photo booth has this unique way of getting people to relax and just have some good, clean fun. We believe in it, and we hope that by having LightBooth at your wedding, you will realize this power as well.
